The Owner’s challenged the design team to develop an addition that would compliment the existing clubhouse, while establishing a presence sufficient for weddings and regional conferences, and an identity separate from the golfing tradition.\u00a0 The addition needed to be substantial and compositionally self sufficient, yet clearly secondary to the clubhouse itself.<\/span><\/p>\n

The siting of the banquet hall responds to the knobby ridgeline bending around the west face of the clubhouse and to the concept of an entry axis distinct from the existing building.\u00a0 Both buildings can come together and cluster around the arrival and parking at the top of the hill, while developing individual and differing spaces at the course to the west.<\/span><\/p>\n
